What is Row-level security?

Row-level security is a data-access control that limits which rows of a table each user or role can read or change, based on a policy, in addition to which tables they can reach.

How it works.

Two users can run the same query and receive different rows: a regional manager sees one region's orders, a client sees only its own records. The filter is applied by the data platform, not by the application that asks.

Fail-closed means that if the policy cannot be evaluated, no rows are returned.

Why it matters.

It keeps data separated even when an application, or an AI assistant, constructs the query.

How Corlogic uses it.

Corlogic uses fail-closed row-level security to isolate client data, together with role-based permissions over data, processes and tools. Query SQL runs through a read-only, least-privilege role.

Start with a recurring process that is harder to coordinate than it should be.
